New V nose models

they do not get better fuel mileage... V nose cargo trailers have been around for YEARS.

measure the AREA of a V nose.. and a flat front camper... the V nose has more area for wind to drag on and catch.

My impressions are based on pulling a flat nose trailer (Trail Lite) vs our current V-nose (VR-1) with the same truck.
Are they significantly easier to tow? Overall, I would say no real difference. Straight head winds seem to be a little smoother with the VR-1, but quartering headwinds were worse than the flat nose.
Does it improve your mileage at all? Not in our case.
Does it...help with sway or wind from passing vehicles? No difference with vehicles overtaking. A little less buffeting from trucks in the opposite direction.
In my opinion, the real advantage of a V-nose is maximum floor space for a given length.

^^^^^ This. Sorry, a V nose won't tow any easier or better. (plus they look weird IMHO)

Any wind tunnel tests by independent experts? Or only “I believe,” “I swear,” etc.

I was already skeptical, thx DBH for the direct comparison. We are looking at a lot of miles the first 2 years and then slowing down and lingering, and towing ease on 2 lane roads was a concern.

I have a large V nose snowmobile trailer and a friend has a square nose. Both are about the same size carrying the same load pulled by Ford F-250 diesels. When traveling together, he gets better mileage than me. It’s the flat rear that causes the drag and the V nose might create an even wider wake that needs to come back together at the rear.

Tell them to show you the wind tunnel comparatives, anything else is just talk. Keep in mind that talk is only worth the paper it is written on. :B

No, no, and no from experience along with many others.

They came out with V nose horse trailers 'eons ago' with the same hype of aerodynamics, gas mileage, etc.

Everyone ran out and bought one. Within months Everyone sold them as fast as they bought them.

Not only did they not help with wind drag or mileage, but for us horse owners it cut into precious storage space.
Which we all thought would be worth giving up for better mpg. Not.

Problem with V nosed TT's is where are the propane tanks and the batteries?

I always got the same towing mileage with both our square nose TT and a V-nose snowmobile trailer. Doesn't seem to matter, frontal area is frontal area. BTW we've looked at V-noses and have really liked the ones with the bathroom in the front.
