Nose high

Just wondering.... while doing the flip , and wet bolt mods, what would it cost to change out for 7 ton axles ?
(I know I'm assuming the older 5ver has 6 ton axles).

Yes, I should have stated "after the suspension modifications". I had the same problem but there was enough to adjustment left in the factory setup to gain one inch and I'm getting my other inch from the taller tires, I was almost 2" nose high myself.

Is that thing in the back of the pickup a hitch? Never seen anything like it! What's it's rating?

The only debate now is whether to buy the parts and do the job myself or have a shop do it for me. I enjoy wrenching on things and it looks like a pretty easy job, but time is always short between work, kids and all the different activities that seem to go on all the time. Luckily it's January so I have some time to get it figured out.

A Correct Track system will give you about 2" more lift, as well as the ability to easily align your axles.

I do have room for bigger tires, but I'm going to start with the axle flip. Bigger tires alone aren't going to provide enough lift, so I figure I'll do the flip and then evaluate from there whether to also go to a larger tire size.

I did the axle flip myself, I removed the axles and took them to a welder and had the new perches welded on then reinstalled myself. While you have everything apart I would recommend adding a EZ Flex equalizer and wet bolt kit.

I did like oldbiscuit said and lifted the camper 5" and added cross bracing - worked great - at the same time we lowered the rear jacks 6" too along with a 4 step entry instead of a 3 step.

If you have some decent tools not real difficult, I did on a 24 year old King of the Road, with more than it's fair share of corrosion.

Make sure you have solid support under the 5er while working. 2X4 cribbing worked well.
