Had a similar situation on an '04 Tahoe. The way the waterproof fabric was attached at the front actually funneled water under the trailer between the fabric and trailer frame. So the floor rotted and someone replaced it. But they re-installed the fabric the same way so it is getting wet again. So I cut that all out and threw out the pathetic and wet fiberglass insulation. Used 1" thick pink solid insulation panels and screwed and glued it directly to the joists underneath, then caulked around all the edges. Much better, is solid underneath and is better insulated. I also think the smoother undercarriage might help aerodynamics and handling. In this case the water infiltration was from the bottom up.
Hi LVJJJ,
That's pretty much exactly what I was thinking. I like the idea of air being able to get in there and dry out the undercarriage. I'm going to use treated lumber and/or a waterproofing sealer. Thanks!
