As mentioned above,you can go to a 9.6 TC without worry as to taking the boat alone and there is a lot more storage than the smaller units..You will probably need atleast an 8.6 model to get a shower/toilet to use your factory hitch without an extension.
I chose a 9.6 model with a Lance bumper for the room and storage it offers and a Reese solid bar 18" extension that is flush with the end of the camper/bumper.I wanted smaller yet, like yourself, but the wife won out and the TC we found was in the condition I wanted it to be in and the solid bar extension is plenty for anything I am going to use it for including my sons bass boat ...
