Be sure and get your trucks separate front and rear axle weight numbers. One gross weight number IMO is worthless unless your state has some type of gross weight for registration purposes.
Truck makers may give their trucks two payload ratings. One is a low number for a truck camper....the other is a GVWR based payload.
GM gave this truck a 6000 RAWR with E tires and properly rated wheels for carrying heavy loads. Use it just as 100 percent of every truck out here on the road working for a living is safely doing.
Many 1500HD owners say thier trucks empty rear axle may 2600-2700 lb which leaves 3300-3400 lbs for a payload before exceeding OEM rear spring pack/wheels and tires. This is just a estimate and example how truck=s on the road carry weight. Use your trucks scaled axle weights and run your trucks numbers.
