I can offer what NOT to do ;-) We have a stripped-down popup - probably weighs #1000 and I've got it on a 2014 Ram 1500. Even with the lower center of gravity and light weight, we needed to add air bags to the suspension (the truck squatted about 6"). Fortunately, the Ram has coil springs in the rear, so the air bags are sausage-like affairs and relatively inexpensive ($85). We also opted for Brophy clmap-on tie downs, which are built incredibly strong... but the truck bed is NOT. So there's an alarming amount of play in those. If I was going to own the same truck for an extended length of time, I'd install frame-mounted tiedowns like the Torklifts.
