I'm also confused how you are "overloaded" with a 1-ton truck hauling one of the lightest models Lance makes?
The older trucks with diesels weighed 7,600 empty and only had a 9,900 GVWR leaving only 2,300 for camper, passengers, and junk. Though the truck has a lot more carrying capacity, the 9,900 was due to federal regulation that kicked in if the truck had a 10,000 or greater GVWR.
With a 2004 I was 500 pounds over my GVWR. On my 2015, I am under the 11,300 GVWR by 800 pounds. It is a gasser, but the diesel has a 1,000 pound higher GVWR to make up for the weight difference of the driveline giving it the same cargo capacity as a gasser.
