It's refreshing to see a relative novice doing the math. The advice given so far is aiming you in the right direction.
Everything is heavier than you think. I'm guessing your truck weights 6400#.
Camper manufacturers don't lie, they just don't weigh the "options": You know, things like jacks and batteries and such. Most of the campers you encounter will weigh several hundred pounds more than the sticker. The stuff you take will also weight several hundred pounds.
I've had four truck/camper combos. Driving seriously overloaded is no fun. Your thinking is right over the target. Good luck.
