If you should make this mistake,,, it is VERY expensive.
The Colorado and Canyons DEF fill is right next to the diesel fuel fill. Must not be that big of a problem.
I mean what would happen if someone put windshield cleaner in the DEF fill under the hood? or motor oil, ATF fluid.

For those that put miles on the truck and frequent truck stops, the def filler on the bedside is more convienent.
One could just as easily put gas in the diesel tank so, yeah.
Pretty sure GM found the cheapest way to retro def onto their existing chassis and that ended up with the filler under the hood and the stupid tank location hanging down under the truck, nothing more.
