Next generation Ram

I love my 17 and the fact that dodge has not changed front ends so often. Chevy and ford seem to change them every 2yrs which is redicolous. I like that dodge keeps what looks great and works.

When i got my 15 Silverado and Chevy changed the front end after only 2 model years that was just crazy to me.

Yes let ford and chrvy waste money changing their front ends like underwear. I hope dodge sticks with their signature big rig front end they debuted in 1994 that the others have copied, in my opinion to some degree or another. I don't miss my 15 Silverado at all with this ram.

Alfa Romeo development comes from a separate bucket of cash that is not connected to Ram and Chrysler.

Alfa Romeo is part of FCA and all of FCA profits can be invested in any of their divisions based on managements decision and how they see fit. Sergio's strategy has been to invest more into AR and to bring more new AR to market including North America. This attempt will most likely be another failure like Sergio's attempt to bring the Fiat product back to North America. In the viewpoint of Ram and Jeep it's called "Rob Peter to pay Paul". They know who's bucket it's coming from!

In the meantime Dodge is dieing on the vine.

What are you talking about??? I towed 28-29K combined with my 11 HO Dually with NO issues with over 1/2 of that towing. Pic is at 65K with at least 50K on the fluid.

I tow 33K combined with my 15 RAM Dually with the Aisin trans. True Medium Duty used in many other applications.

Are you talking carrying capacity? Or RAWR? I would assume Carrying. I would also assume F450?

I'm confused... Sometimes the 68rfe is very capable (even though you installed a after market oil pan) to do the job, and the next time (pending the sales pitch) you have to have a true medium duty transmission to do the job. So which is it?

There is absolutely NOTHING weak about ANY of the current RAM transmissions.

I would like to see them offer the 8 speed ZF just for the performance with the 6.4 though.

What I meant was that I think that the transmission is the weak point in boosting power much higher than it currently is. In order to increase HP and torque on the Cummins (I think there is plenty of power left to be made there...), then Ram needs to beef up that transmission. Its fine with the current power, but I'm afraid too much more would either destroy the trans, or the torque management would be so intrusive that you don't ever really get that power down to start moving.

Honestly, I'm not sure whether that Ford rating is RAWR or payload. I've seen Fishie make reference to those kind of numbers recently. Either way, that's a LOT of weight on those rear axles!

^This! Ferd upped to a 47-48 ? Gal tank didn't they? Hope Ram and GM do the same.
I can put 50 gal in my 20'wake boat with a 350. Would be nice to have a tank big enough to get a full days drive out of while towing or hauling.
I dunno if '19 will be the real deal or not. They always send out the half ton a year earlier and haven't seen any '18 spy photos of the 1500 yet. Maybe they're out there.
Kind of waiting on a 5th gen myself. Still gots lots of life left in my 3rd gen and I seem to always buy one or 2 models old. Be nice to up to the current body style. And hey if it's fugly there will be plenty of 4th gens based on how many they're selling.

Please give us bigger fuel tanks. A 45 gallon tank should be standard on even the shortest wheel base.
