Tesla stock down 21% today, down 34% this month. Competition is on the way, VW's first MEB platform cars are coming out in the new year and look like they could provide some real competition for the 3 and Y.
The looks of the ID3 is kinda cool. I’m not sure why they decided not to sell it on this side of the pond.
The ID4 and Audi Q4 e-tron SUV's and e-tron Sportback are due out next year in North America.. The MEB platform has high floor and low floor configurations which allow it to be used for sedans and SUV's.
I think the ID4 will find a market. Checks a lot of boxes for the medium sized SUV bunch including a towing capacity. Looking forward to seeing it.
As long as you aren't towing very far.
In Europe it’s important to have tow ratings as they don’t have pickups. Local camping, dump runs, picking up stuff at a furniture store or lumber yard. Many businesses have small trailers to loan or rent. There is actually no guarantee that the North American version will have the tow rating. A ton of European made cars have tow ratings in Europe but not here. And it works the other way as well. Even a model 3 is not rated here but has a 990 kg tow rating in Europe. Same car, even has the hardware, just no rating.
Cheers.
