Nissan Cummins matchup

Simple - it's cheaper than building a factory and Cummins had the right product at the right price. Remember the first couple of years, the engines were NA's - not turboed.
The same VM engine that goes into EU Grand Cherokees is going into the 1500. It's lighter weight than the 4BT Cummins and because they had already had them in the 05 Patriots most of the mechanics had experience with them. But on that account there are no VM shops here, like Cummins shops.
