Yes, it has the same or slightly higher GVWR than my 2000 F250. Big difference is the roughly 5K RGAWR versus 6K for my F250. If Nissan used the running gear from their NV3500 van they would be right up with or higher than the axle ratings of new 250/2500 trucks. But then they would get their lunch eaten in diesel power and torque specs of directly comparable trucks. They are really kind of in a tough spotThey are really kind of in a tough spot.
I haven't understood their positioning since they came to market. The 5.0 is too big to have a significant advantage in MPG like the 3.0 diesel(s) do. And it is too small to have a significant advantage when it comes to performance/towing ability.
