This pickup was discussed at length here when the specs were released on the little Cummins. I would say that it has turned out just as many predicted....unsuccessful. I predicted that the middle of the road towing specs with HD mpg ratings would be the issue, however what I didn't predict was the issues with the engine and pickup at roll out. Didn't see that coming. At the end of the day, Nissan is stuck. They can or have fixed a lot of the initial issues, but you cant fix the fundamental market positioning issues that they created for themselves, at least with the diesel. They do spec very close to what the HD's speced 16 years ago, but this isn't 2003. HD's have doubled in torque with about the same mpg. So coming to market with a heavy half ton, that gets HD diesel type economy is a loser, and to add insult to injury, that thing has a face only its design engineer could love. Like I said earlier, hats off for going outside the box, but I don't think it was thought through very well.
