Note that I also quoted CBS news that had the exact same news release from GM. And of course CBS is an approved lefty source.
And also note that electric vehicles just transfer the burning of fossil fuels from the vehicle (the efficient way) to a distant power plant (inefficient because of transmission losses and second law losses)
I respect the person's opinion about his forecast of the future. Still not news.
As for your efficiency claims.... everything I read is actually not what you posted.
If petrol was so good to burn locally why are there virtually no homes running 24/7 on a petrol generator?
