Actually not true for us. We use the home oven for casseroles frequently but generally use the outside grill with the TT. Wife gets a break from preparing dinners when RVing. So, we don't use the TT oven but honestly, kind of glad we have it in the event I do want to use it. Also, mine was only turned on to test it.

What is also interesting is poster's thoughts about this being a cost saving measure. I've happened to see a show, many probably on here have too, about the fad :) of Tiny Houses. I notice, some of those are being made without ovens and in some cases, no stove top either. The tiny house fad is also, not necessarily cheap for what you get and you have to find some place to set it. I feel certain it is about maximizing space and removing items that aren't necessarily seen as important to today's buying generations.

This is what I do as well. Mine did not come with a oven. I installed a convection oven.

I would agree with others about space in small trailers as well as cost. I would think it would heat up a small trailer as well as being a carbon monoxide risk for a small space.

We don't use ours much, but only because we don't feel it's tall enough. I think that's a consequence of the furnace being directly below the oven. To be fair, our trailer was designed to maximize the open space, so the location of the furnace was only logical.

That said, I'm not sure we would miss it given that we get along fine without it now.

We've used the oven only once since we've had an RV that came with an oven. We started out in Class B's. They didn't have ovens for obvious reasons. Space.

The first TT we had did have an oven so we made a pizza. Worked reasonably well. Since then, we've never used the oven.

What I wish we had in our current trailer is a micro/convection oven.

If we got another RV and it didn't have an oven, wouldn't bother me any. We'd welcome the additional storage.

We have a small trailer without an oven. We got a camping oven @ Costco for about $100. Set it up to hook up to our propane quick connect. Perfect for us. We like cooking outside. Doesn't heat up the interior of the trailer. Plus, it's an extra oven for holiday cooking. For Easter dinner we cooked the funeral potatoes in it. It also has 2 burners on top. All the better. I'd buy it even if my trailer came with an oven.

One issue I see is you are looking at a small TT.

There are certainly exceptions but I suspect, you will find the smaller the trailer, the less likely it will have an oven. The smaller the trailer, the less space there is to go around and generally smaller trailers are less likely to be involved in long trips where people are more likely to use the oven. Small trailers are also more cost sensitive. $100 build savings replacing the oven with a cabinet helps meet a price point.

I think? I used mine once just to test it. After that, never! I didn't think anyone used them. As was said the percentage is minuscule on those that want one!

Use any pan with a lid. Put the pan over LOW heat and they will bake up. You can also bake cakes, fix pizza, pretty much anything you'd do in an oven with a pan that has a lid. You just make sure it's on a very low heat so the bottom will not burn, not like frying something. We've baked potato, made bread, baked cookies, and pizza in an electric skillet many, many times. Another use for the oven that no one has mentioned.....

Have you ever used your camper in the middle of the winter? The camper was all closed up, and you flip on the furnace? Well, the furnace can take a LONG time to heat the camper. We have on many occasions lit the oven and left the door propped open a couple inches so the heat could escape. It's a lot safer than instant heat from the stove top burners. It helps heat with the furnace much quicker. Once the camper warms up, turn the oven (or stove top off) and let the furnace continue working. It works great for INSTANT heat and an IMMEDIATE heat source .... especially if your not hooked up to electricity or may find yourself with a dead battery! The Oven flame is much safer than the stove top flame.

FYI, we use our oven in the camper a lot!

I use mine rarely, only because I love to bbq. The oven is nice to have on a rainy day.

Honestly I use it because I have it, if I didn't have one I'd just use what's available.

Have had two campers. Never even turned the ovens on in either of them. I would actually like to try cooking a pizza in this one though sometime in the future.
