I once had the same problem, and it’s the process of elimination that worked…In my case, a slight amount of stray, circular ‘eddy current’ was causing the garage GFI to trip…However, in your case (now, the garage breaker trips) it sounds like what may be occurring is a higher current direct short…
1) Shut off all the breakers in the camper.
2) Disconnect all the ground wires (the copper ones) at the grounding buss bar, except for the Main breaker copper wire.
3) Plug into shore power.
4) Switch on Main breaker in camper….No problems??
5) Now, of the remaining breakers, activate only one breaker at a time, then temporarily reconnect each ground wire (or, using a jumper wire) ‘one by one’ until you find the one that’s causing the breaker to trip..
In my case, I found that the affected appliance was the hot water heater, and since I only heat with LPG anyway, I just left it disconnected with the breaker off…
