Norcold n611l fridge 120v problems

I have a 2008 attitude 23lfs and the fridge won't run on 120v ac power. It's a norcold n611L and on the front the on green light flashes 3 times every 10 seconds. The fridge works great on gas. I just can't get it to run on external power. I have check the ac outlet and it's putting out 118v ac. I replaced the AC heater element in the chimney flue. I tried plugging it into a separate extension cord. I'm getting 12v dc to the power board. The 5 amp fuse is good. I cycled all the circuit beakers and battery disconnect switches. Not sure where to go from here. Any advise would be appreciated.
  • I installed a new circuit board and it works like a champ now, thanks for all the help
  • My Norcold N611 had the opposite problem. The manual has a troubleshooting flowchart that helped me. LMGTFY.
  • AC heater element resistance should be 38-53 ohms.

Still confused what code you are getting.....
    3 times every 10 seconds , 1 time every 3 seconds, 3 times every 3 seconds??
  • Ok. That's a good ideal. I did an ohm Check on the heater element and got about 6.62 ohms. I got the same reading on both elements, the new one and the old one.
  • You stated "on green light flashes 3 times every 10 seconds".
I took that to mean 1 time every 3 seconds

Now you are saying "the trouble code it is flashing says it should be an AC heater failure".
That code would be 'ON LED flashes 3 times every 3 seconds'

Unplug AC heater...plug the end of leads directly into a 110V AC source and force run it on AC heater.
Check next day if it is cooling.......if it is---power board issue
    If it isn't----AC heater issue
  • Fuses are good and clips are good. I pulled the board and used my multimeter to check continuity across the solder pins. The only thing I couldn't get a reading on was the varistor. That's the circle looking component that is used to cushin an electrical surge. AC power coming from the wall outlet is good and I even plugged a few things into it to make sure. I'm going to have to go with bad board on this one. It will run me about 138.00. Sucks because the trouble code it is flashing says it should be an AC heater failure. Maybe the solder pins for the ac heater are bad. Thanks for the quick response.
  • ON LED flashing 1 every 3 seconds indicates that the fridge is operating in BOS (Backup Operating System). That means 'thermistor' is not communicating with controls....either due to loose/bad plug connection at lamp assembly OR thermistor is bad.

BUT that should affect both electric and propane operation :H

Now if the ON LED is lit and it's the GAS LED that's blinking 1 every 3 seconds....that is an AC Fault Code.
    Good AC power at outlet
Good AC power at lower board connection
    Good 5A Fuse
Good AC power THRU that 5A fuse????? Clips holding fuse tight...AC on both sides of fuse??

IF Fuse good......Clips are good.......board is bad/AC power track
