I live in So California and we were taking a trip to Barton Flats which is on hwy 38 on the way to Big Bear Lake. The trip was going along fine and we were having a nice time till we hit the first real incline. Got up about 200 ft and the Temp went all the way to the right and as I saw the turn out I was hoping to make it and the engine turned off. Here I am 30 ft from being in the turn out. Got out set up markers and as I did this guy pulling his boat pulled over in the turn out and backed up to help me. He was a fireman (off duty) with his son and they got a rope and tied us up and pulled me into the turn out, I thanked him and his son and GOD! After an investigation it was the top radiator hose that had come off. Called AAA but they were so slow in responding being this was the 4th of July. Fixed the hose and wouldn't you know I had just bought 12 1.5 liter bottles of water from Trader Joe's. Used 7 bottles and we were good to go. As my wife and I prayed a CHP officer showed up and asked are we planning on camping here? After explaining what had happened I asked if he could follow us up a short distance since it was all incline for the next mile or so with his lights so know one would hit us. He said sure and did for 2 miles again if felt as if GOD had taken care of us and the rest of the trip was very good and Thanks to GOD and the fireman and CHP officer that helped. I have a f-150 4.6 and a 23 ft Terry Travel Trailer with an equalizer hitch. Just wanted to share a story that was bad that came out good.

I'm glad everything worked out for you and you had a safe trip. Don't be surprised if the weight police show up!

Nice post!! May the good Lord continue to look after you in your travels. You gave at least two angels a reason to smile. (The off duty guy and the on duty guy.) All they needed yet was this thank you from you.

I can't really respond without knowing the actual weight of your trailer (loaded), how much tongue weight, and what type of WD bars you have..... Please advise.

It sounds like the top cooling hose probably just came off. Everything else seems to be fine.

For those that must know there was no water in the FW tank and the weight of the Trailer was about 3500lbs and the Truck with tow pkg, is about 6500lbs and use an Equalizer hitch. Thanks for all the nice responses'. Oh ya 1 12v battery on the Trailer, no TV on board and 1/3 full Refrigerator. Yes GOD sent 2 angels to help and I am so thankful!

Had a similar issue. Radiator on my 2006 Chevy. Had radiator drained by removing bottom hose and anti-freeze changed at home. Live in Southeast Texas. Went to Phoenix, Camp Pendleton and at the last rest area in Arizona headed back east after a month, I pulled over to use the rest room. Truck idling and walking the dog. Looked around and antifreeze running out from under the truck. Shut it off and found that the lower hose had come off. Luckily the o ring was still there.

Truck driver had a gallon of antifreeze. Re-installed the hose never had another issue.

Color of TV?
What brand of oil used?
Air or Nitrogen in the tires?
Time of day of occurrence?
ST or LT tires?
6 or 12 volt batteries?
Towing with full or empty tanks?
Last time you attended church?

Gotta have the most accurate info to formulate a proper response.:B

You forgot to ask the color of the RV, how tall it was, was the roof coated, and why was he there to start with.
