I always preferred the Chevy over the GMC...comparing apples to apples, only some badging difference and maybe a little more bling for the GMC; the GMC would have cost me more money than the Chevy...at least that was my buying experience in areas where I purchased my Chevy trucks, (WV, TN and NC), from 1975 through 2010..
Is that the difference? I've never really paid too close attention, but I have always thought the GMC's were a little nicer. I thought the GMC line was more of a "work truck" than a "pretty truck". Weird. I will still never understand why they are two separate entities...
Agree with you100%. They use to come off the same assembly lines, but cosmetics were the only difference, everything else is the same. I think they ought to 1 truck and call it a GMC Chevy, or something to that effect.
GMC came about when GM dealers other than Chevy wanted to sell trucks, vans and suburbans. (Olds, Caddy, buick, Pontiac). So along came GMC with the same basic vehicle with different names.
When we looked for an 04.5 and when we looked at the 2015's, if you price identical vehicles from Chevy and GMC you'll find the prices are virtually identical. Now, GMC does not offer the basic WT like chevy does, and for a few years GMC had the Denali high end that Chevy didn't. Now Chevy has the high country.
There are some color options that don't cross as well. Basically, IMHO it boils down to which one has the colors and looks you like. For the 04.5 I went with Chevy. For our 2015 IMHO looks wise and the fact that the Denali had a charcoal interior option on the Denali and Chevy High country only had a tan I didn' like, It was GMC this time all the way.
In some cases GMC and Chevy have different names for exactly the same color. The color code is identical but the name is different.
But again, it really boils down to which one has the looks and colors you want. And then what deals you can get between the various dealers. - NC_HaulerExplorer

Some are saying on other forums that ford put cash on the hoods in November due to sales not taking off as expected. Not sure if there is any truth to that though. GM twins have been selling strong, and sierra was way down due to large incentives last month. Month by month really changes a lot for many reasons, but year to date says alot.
So GMC was running big incentives in October? That makes sense. They pulled ahead the potential November sales. And with the smaller in general sales volume for GMC relative to GM that makes the November numbers look bad. As far as the Ford incentives I have no idea. I am not in the market so do not pay attention the pricing on any of the mfg's. - spoon059Explorer II

By my calculations gm total truck sales ytd are 734,253. Fseries is 695,143. This is a win for Ford how?
I love my new Silverado, but do like all of the big 3 trucks. I also like ford and have owned Ford trucks so I'm not brand biased.
They are both doing well and I'm glad for that personally!
Other than not actually reading the OP you are correct. But the OP was very clear when they posted. I am publishing a new self help book on communication. It is titled "Men are from Mars, RV.net members are from Venus"
So if RV.Net members are from Venus, and you're an RV.net member, how are you different from ALL the rest of us? Especially in "communication"?:h
:)
Exactly. Now you are getting it. You will need to read chapter 3 for some really deep analysis. :D - NC_HaulerExplorer

Curious why GMC dropped so much, but Chevy is doing fine... Personally I like the GMC a little better than the Chevy. Not enough to actually buy one of the, just saying.
