1. 8.5% money is expensive in today's market. Without challenged credit, you should get in the 4% to 5% range.
2. You will be "upside down" for at least 8 of those 12 years you are financed.
My reply was to show there are ways to afford the new TT you want without having a monthly payment of $300 - $500. If you can afford to double up on payments some months then do it. With a longer loan term you can enjoy camping, build fond memories and not go broke.
While some of you are finacially rich to not have a loan I choose to enjoy and stay within my family budget.
