Good info on Ford's , I would say that if the oil minder is coming on at 5000 miles with "change oil now" it is in extreme mode . It may pay to do an oi l analysis or two like you did to see how accurate the minder is . I know in my GM the mpg reading is optimistic by 2+mpg .
