This is an interesting thread to me. We have never had any of our vehicles 'oiled' to protect from rust.
But we have had three of our vehicles...2 GM, 1 Toyota Ziebarted in 2007 and 2010.
We haven't had any rust issues or any problems. Ziebart application worked from what I can see , quite well and we live in a severe winter climate.
A friend had his new (2013) Ford F 150 Ziebarted in August, 2013. One of the reasons he did this was because his F 150 didn't come with any plastic guards in the wheel wells and he wanted to have some protection there.
Both of us had undercoating, rustproofing and finish protection applied by Ziebart.
Also he like me...keeps his vehicles for years, sometimes decades.
He also had his 1974 Nova....Ziebarted, back in '74. This Nova still has it's original body parts and has now become a street rod with a 406 cube small block Chevy V8, replacing it's 350 SBC. It's no show rod, but it's also no rat rod. It's a nice older car.
We may get another new vehicle in the next year or so. Probably a Chevy Traverse CUV or a Subaru Outback.
I'm intending to Ziebart whatever we choose, because so far, it seems to work well for us.
