Old Friends

Hello TCINTN. Was thinking of you the other day while watching the news of the floods in the Ozarks area. If you deploy to that area and go to or through Van Buren, MO, see if you can stop in at Big Springs RV Park just south of Hwy 60. It's nicely located on a bluff on the Current River that typically doesn't flood but even it got hit in this record-breaking flood. John who owns and runs the place is a really great guy and I hate to see this happen to him. I hope to run out there to lend a hand in fixing the place up myself but it'll be a while due to work commitments.

Good to hear from Sleepy. He has brought a lot to this site and has helped a lot of us less experienced truck campers with a lot of good advice and even done the work himself on our campers.
May Sleepy and his bride have a great year camping and looking forward to his next trip report.

Hi LD! I was wondering what was up with you. Hadn't seen you posting for quite some time ... even over on the Class C forum. Sorry to hear it's due to health issues. I hope that with you posting now it means things are getting better. The DH and I are cranking along. I'm up to the usual ... WORK ... and the DH is busy with spring mowing. We haven't had much chance to travel yet this year except for one trip when I didn't even make it out of the state before having truck troubles. There's still a lot of year left though!

Nice to hear you're planning a trip report. I enjoyed them thoroughly and really admired the fact you and your wife can take advantage of truck camping through your retirement years. My wife and I look forward to having just some of the experiences you have accumulated.

Age and illness has taken a toll on me and the camper too... but I won't give up and I won't let our 1161 give up either. (Lance). Janet keeps pushing us along...

Funny thing... just yesterday I commented to a couple of friends that I was thinking about posting a new adventure involving Steve "Subconsulting" and Peter "Capt PJ"... it will take me a month or so to get it together if...... is there room for at least one more thread?

I do hope that all of you are well and your families too. We miss you.
