We thought the engine shut off if the car doors locked, or if the key-less do-hickey got more than ten feet away. But we never even considered that it might not shut off.
When we test drove a new Ford Escape ,the salesman had the FOB when we drove off , and other then the warning that the FOB left the vehicle we were able to drive away on a test drive with the FOB ,and the salesman at the dealership.
Just checked my 2014 Ram ,you can walk way from it running, and it continues to run. Never have thought that they would shut off unless done manually.
I personally don't see what the issue is ,you either push the button to turn off the engine or you turn the key off to turn off the engine. What difference does it make how the engine is turned off, if you don't the same results are going to happen
