One of our members is almost as famous as his family!

One of our long time posters to this forum is now featured in an article in Truck Camper Magazine. Many know him here as; msiminoff but many of us know him as the Electrical Guru, Mark Siminoff. Some might not realize that Mark and Ellen, and their young family, took a year off to show their family a large part of this world. Some of this adventure is shared within Truck Camper Magazine's recent article, link below;

  • 8 thumbs up from our family, we are in the same boat and I thought 5 weeks on the road was long :) My 11 year old and 9 year old read the article and are jealous of the mods you have done, everything except for the chore chart. Can't wait to see your new camper design. I understand the frustration/chore of setting up the sleeping area for the kids.
  • Thanks Bryan for the link. This is Living LARGE. I am so impressed with the Siminoff Story. Mark and Ellen are so right that the time to do it is now. I learned a lot, by default, with the story, but agree that there is value in finding your own way traveling and living over a long period of time. Our kids, now in their 40's fondly remember all the extended camping and touring trips we did in various 4-bys over a 20 year period.
I'm anxious to see what Mark comes up with in terms of another rolling domicile.
    Great stuff.

  • Thanks for pointing out Mark's story Bryan - I'd have missed it otherwise.

I scrolled down and suddenly thought - hey, I recognise that bearded ranger :B

Looks like a great experience for the kids. Well done Mark.

    Cheers,

    Steve.

One of the best TC Magazine articles ever!
  • Amazing family adventure, you did it all and in a fabulous way!
  • Ha ha ha ha ! ! ! ! You found me Bryan.
Without a doubt one of the highlights of our adventure was being able to spend some time with you in your natural habitat. Ellen and the kids still talk about how much they learned from you and how exciting it was to see that moose cow & moose calf (I like to say moose!) trot past us during our hike. We're looking forward to our next get together :)

Dave, we're always in the market for another grand-pa, you are welcome to stow away with us any time. Oh... and please don't forget to pack that bottle of Honey-Jack ;) Thanks again for sharing your most favorite top-secret southern Utah camping spot with us. What an amazingly beautiful place it was!

It was a spectacular year. For those of you considering heading out on a truck camper expedition, do it... Do it right now!

We're now starting to plan our next family adventure. There's a new custom built truck camper in the works too; Rugged & lightweight all-composite construction, all-weather capable, dual slides, lots of solar, huge tanks, cassette potty. I can't wait to share the build with all of you.

    Cheers,
    -Mark
  • Thanks for the link Bryan. Mark is an outstanding guy and has made some original and fabulous mods to his camper. Not to mention the family adventure they're on. I wonder if he'd adopt me for a year? I could be Grand Pa. Anybody ever adopt a Grand Pa?
