I "feel" that way too. There is something comforting about all that steel around me when I am in a truck.
However, that comforting feeling goes away when I think about roll over incidents with trucks... especially in the past, where the roof is completely crushed into the passenger compartment by the sheer mass of the vehicle.
Being rear ended before in a BOF truck (it was a ranger actually) and the truck sustaining nearly no damage (can't say that for the van that hit me) I think I would rather be rear ended in a truck....
as far as a roll over, If I had a preference... it would be a Cross Over type vehicle with unibody construction.
