want to sell you more oil, and cars and trucks in light duty service can go longer than recommended, I don't mess around with my F350 diesel changes, especially since I pull a boat or FW somewhat frequently. This is my first diesel, and I was appalled at how dirty the oil was shortly after my first oil change. I checked with Ford and was told diesel oil will always look dirtier than gas engines. I recommend getting an oil analysis occasionally so you know what's going on inside.
