Recently on my slide there was an obstruction that prevented slide stopping about an inch for going all the way out. Once I got obstruction removed slide is working fine now.
Cable operated slides used on Open Range TT's do not have a slip clutch.
I'm betting the OP has a unit with a failed gearbox. When they fail they usually shear off a couple of gear teeth.
