The OP could load 900# of people, dogs, and cargo into/onto the Durango and then attach a 6300# trailer without exceeding the GCWR.
However, if the 6300# trailer has a tongue weight of 800# (TW% = 12.7%), the TV's GVWR will be exceeded.
IMO, if the GVWR is exceeded, things are not "working out".
If you want to "give op some ideas on how to make his setup work", it would be better to forget about GCWR and focus on how to stay within the TV's GVWR.
IMO, the OP needs to limit the TT's loaded weight to 5000# or less to make things work.
