The unit I am looking at is 26' TT and 5100# dry. About 5600# loaded up and a hitch weight of 500#.
Sorry to say, but if you use those numbers to make a buying decision, you could end up in a whole heap of trouble and you'll have more than a dilemna to worry about. :(
To give you an example, we bought our TT last year and the advertised dry weight was 5237 lbs and the dry tongue weight was 518 lbs and the tongue percentage calculates as 10%. Guess what? When I went to the scale, the tongue weight turned out to be 960 lbs and the GVW was 6,640 lbs (GVWR is 6800 lbs). HUGE surprise. Tongue weight works out to 14.5%. The TT only has some pretty basic camping & TT stuff and supplies in it and we're almost at the GVWR...
If you have no idea what a unit's actual weights are, use the GVWR and take 15% of that for tongue weight. Then you're covered (except for what your TV can handle).
As said, you have payload capacity to think about and the only way to know for sure is to go to a scale, which you are doing. When you know the actual capacity, you can go shop for what works with your TV.
Good luck!
