I really appreciate everyones feedback! Its obvious w/out even weighing the vehicles(s) that I am maxed out currently at my GVW w/ my current setup and going to any heavier of a trailer is not going to happen. So I am taking my wife out today to look at a couple trucks to see if she could live with one. We love the look and height of our Durango, it fits the other 99% of our life perfect outside of the 1% we spend camping. We each have our daily driver cars and this is the family vehicle and we love it.
So one part of me says stay w/ what I have and the 8 times a year we camp it fits us fine (the HTT) but the other part of me says I am always sacrificing something. Not to mention my Durango is not the best off road vehicle as its the R/T version which is more street cred look than off road able and that limits us to where we can camp and how far back off pavement we go. Im looking at a Ram 1500 and Ford F150 today, payloads are 1600+ so that appears to put me in the safe zone for what I am looking at camper weight wise. Now we will see how my wife likes trying to park one of these babies. Thanks again!
