I can speculate on these model years. Ford and GM are striving to produce the most trucks. The GM 2023 is a carry-over, as GM is doing the enhancement for 2024. Ford is doing the enhancement for 2023. If they spent down time, they would produce less. This is all business strategies. Ford extended their 2013 F150 model year to produce many more trucks and offer great deals while GM was bringing on the new 2014 models. The business model is more complex than many think.
