Our camper is haunted!

Pull the fuse and see it that "resets" things.

I have had the exact same problem, and mine was also a 2011 Jensen model. For a 2 month period earlier this spring it would randomly turn itself on parked outside my house. Not near other houses or trailers with remotes, or Indian burial grounds :B

It also wasn't the alarm, I checked, and the day and times of day it turned on was random.

One thing I did that stopped it once we moved the trailer and took it camping this summer; I cleaned the battery terminals as they were a little corroded. I dont think it was related, but it hasn't happened since.... I suspect it is faulty manufacturing/wiring in the radio unit...

I had the mysterious radio with a mind of its own too. 2011 model, purchased April 2011, usual Jenson stereo. Started turning on by itself summer of 2014. Why all of sudden I asked myself? Maybe on of switch dusty/ dirty inside? Can of Radio Shack electronic cleaner and spraying and working the switch on and off 15 or 20 times solved the issue for me.

Our radio has turned on by itself 3 or 4 times this season, but only when we inadvertently parked over an old sacred indian burial ground. Very spooky and unnerving.... At least the radio is still under warranty so we can get some kind of exorcism done under warranty at the dealer.

Could the remote be faulty or is it the radio itself?

No , I have a lab/springer mix that goes outside eats wood and plastic... Then pukes it up on my kitchen floor at night.

Good time of year for that to happen,,, Hang a sign and charge for tours,, who knows,, might work!

It sounds like the camper is close by to where you are. Is it by chance next to your house?

Do you have any remote controlled devices in the area of the camper? Over head garage door, TV set, car locks that use a key fob etc?

I never realized my camper radio has a remote control feature as we never had a remote for it. Well, when we bought our new digital TV, the TV remote set sets the thing off when we change channels on the TV. The old analog TV never had this problem. It will come on about full blast when we change the TV channels. It powers it up and changes the volume to 89 out of 100. About scare one to death... After a few times of this, I found the sensor eye hiding on the front of the radio and had to put aluminum foil over it and black electric tape. The tape alone was not strong enough, the thing would still turn on every now and then.

If you pull the fuse out of the radio and it still turns on, then better get the trailer whisper...

Once you figure out this mystery, please post back.
