Starting with the 2001.5, Dodge 2500 and 3500's were equipped with big disc brakes all around. That was just one of the reason I bought the truck. Brakes work fine even with a 16,000 pound Gross with no fade going down endless 6-8% grades. As far as I can tell, the ".5" on the year only added all-around disc brakes, mid year production.
What it does not have are engine brakes or exhaust brakes. That would help.
