outlets not working

Ok so here's the problem. Wife was vaccumning in the TT 2011 Coachmen Catalina 32BHDS and all of a sudden the vac quite working and now outlet that it was plugged into is no longer working. Also now five more plugs are not working. Checked the GFCI in bathroom and it is working fine. Looked for a tripped breaker on power panel and all seem fine, even switched them off and on to double check. Looked for a reset button on the converter and could not find one. Need help getting irritated by this cause one of the plugs is by the bed and I need it to plug in my alarm. Have turned power off at pedestal and still nothing. BTW the vac is no longer working.

  • check in in the refrigerator compartment from outside the trailer. might be a gfci there.
  • Do you have any working outlets?
Could it be the power sorce your plugged into?
  • Sometimes there is a second GFI near the galley sink.

Get a meter, and start working back from the power pole. Do you have power at the shore connection?
Do you have power if you run a generator?
Do you have power at the breaker box in the RV?
Is there power to the inverter? Will you get 110VAC
Work your way back to the outlets.

It's also not uncommon for those cheap GFI outlets to fail. I'd pull the cover, and see if you've got voltage to the outlet.

    Good luck:)
  • Hi,

Is there a transfer switch? Is there an inverter? Have you checked the voltage on the shore power pedestal?

Did you test the vacuum on the shore power pedestal?

Do you use a surge suppressor?
  • Go carefully though your camper and look closely at EVERY outlet and see if they are GFI
Trip (test) and reset EVERY one .
Look in every outside compartment and the outlets on the outside
Check very carefully in the bathroom and kitchen area
If still no joy go to your electric center and trip and reset every breaker
    Good Luck, Mike
  • Ok just noticed this as well the fridge keeps switching from propane to electric every 30 sec. or so. never did this before. I have never used it on propane either now I'm getting worried. I use my TT to work out of and it has been great but i have heard that when one thing goes work everything else follows.
