Agreed. My lance 990 legend 11' 3" model has a dry weight of 3500 lbs . Wet near 3900lbs. Only 300 lbs. added to front axle. Depending on how we pack. All on a 2006 Dodge 2500 quad cab long bed 4x4 CTD. Only different between 3/4 ton and 1 ton Dodge SRW in 2006 is a sway bar and overload spring. Everything else is the same. Added extra leaf spring, Bilstein shocks, air lift airbags, which i do not need, and finally 19.5 vision wheels. Firestone 690 plus 19.5 tires. Previous owner drove TC for 8 years with stock 2005 Dodge 3500 srw with no problems. My truck payload including 2 passengers is lowly 2006 lbs payload!!

1500 over weight at max payload(not packing lite) just don't go over your max tire load and axle rating.

i would guess i'm around 5 or 6 hundred over but i've got supersprings and e rated tires and it rides really good so i really don't stress over it.

We were about 500lbs over our 11.200 GVWR with the camper and no tow or flat towing the jeep with the 2000 F350. Add the horse trailer and we were 1000 lbs over. It handled very well with DIY stableloads the only mod.
With the 2015 we are 1800 lbs under our 14,000lb GVWR while towing horse trailer or putting the jeep up on a trailer.

Last time I weighed when fully loaded, 13,700 which put me 700 pounds under.

2006 srw dodge 3500 gvw 9990 lbs. with 1986 lance945 loaded gvw 12500just a little over truck rides very good .i have air bags and rancho shocks .previous owner had optional springs installed unable to get any info on factory installed springs .truck rides and handles very good. upgraded rear tires to notto terra dulers with 4000 lb. ratting each solved tire loading.I run #40 lbs in airbags.

OP, sounds like you're set up pretty good if you're only 600 pounds over.
My '05 Chevy dually is rated for 11,400. With just the camper and the family I'm about 13,100. If I hitch up my boat I'm about 13,500 on the truck. I'm not over my tire weights or the rating of the axles. I've logged thousands of trouble free miles with the cruise control set on the speed limit.

About 1000 lbs over GVW, under axel and tire.
Rode well without the mods.
Faster cornering with mods.
With over 100 000 km with camper on all types of road I am not concerned with the weight.

2000 lbs over the GVW but under the axle ratings, the tire ratings were the weakest link. Drives perfect after all the mods.
