All TV signals are analog, just like regular phone lines. The difference is like regular phone and old "dial-up" internet access. The modem converts the "digital" computer signal to analog.
Digital TV is a digital TV signal, specially modulated (analog) on a TV carrier. Analog TV is an analog TV signal modulated on a TV carrier.
