I have the Jensen omni on my EC850 and agree it it useless.
Can't decide whether to go with a Jack or Winegard, both mean having to cut a hole in roof as I have none now...most reviews put them as equal or Winegard slightly ahead. I might go with lower profile Winegard as I love to hit trees...
