The start was kind of rough. 8 inches of snow the night before we left and 0 degree temps the day of travel. Uh oh... Not a good sign, but made it through the mountains of West Virginia.Ahhhhh... First lunch on the Causeway Island #2. We are finally out of the nasty winter in Pittsburgh.Our first campground was really "Old Florida" . The tropical setting was wonderful at Koreshan State Park in Estero FL.Our view from the second row at the Red Coconut RV Park on Ft. Myers beach. Yea, I know, kinda like a parking lot, but ohhhhhhhh so nice if you want "beach" views . Happy sunset on our last day.All and all it was a smooth trip down from PA. This was our first long distant trip since the rebuild. The weather was hot hot hot ( in the 90's ) the beverages cold and TC life is awesome.

Wow, that looks BEAUTIFUL!! Glad someone was able to escape this long winter we are having!!One question though, that pic you posted of the "front row" of campers against the beach. They are pulled in?? How would you pull a TT into there? Every campground i've ever been to were back in spots? just curious...

Love your neck of the woods... We actually own a condo in South Ft. Myers, but can not use it in the winter as we have "snowbirds" Hubby is still years out from retirement, but we still get down there a few times a year. This was the first time in the Truck Camper and it was even more fun that staying at our place.

We were down part of January and all of February (about about 1/4er of our winter. It really helps; even if our temps in Florida were in the 30s, 40s and 50s (with 1 or 2 days in the 70s); we were north of your region :B

Born and raise in Freeport PA (North East of Pittsburgh) and now in the Irwin/Greeensburg area.

The spots aren't that great, but being beach front (which we live on the beach morning to night) sure comes in handy.

We absolutely love the Red Coconut. Great happening place and have met some really nice people there. We have never however had to or been asked to take our camper off the tow vehicle and have been there several times. K row on the park side is pull through.

We were at Red Coconut a week or so before you - had third row from the beach - good thing they use the tractor to slot you in, it would have been a real challenge for me to back this sucker into that spot! I love being right near the beach, the DW, not so hot on it - one of my favorite places, one of her least favorite .... oh well.....

Where you from in P-burgh .... I was born and raised in Rosslyn Farms ....

Red Coconut is so small, they make you take your camper off your tow vehicle, then they hook it onto a tractor and put them in the spots... In the entire campground. Not just the front row. They are very efficient at it too.

Ahh, ok. Well that makes sense. Just never seen that before

For the motorhomes pulling into those front row sites makes sense cause then they can look out their front window at the ocean. Not much of a view otherwise since they're packed in there so tight. With the price of real estate there I can understand why they do it though. Very nice WQT!
