What limits this truck to 12,200lbs GVWR when the axles add up to 14550lbs.? 2350 lbs difference?
The answer is simple. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is not calculated as the sum of front and rear axle ratings. That is why adding both axle ratings does not equal GVWR. This is common across all pickup manufacturers. Combined axle ratings are higher than GVWR. GVWR is also a function of how well the vehicle stops loaded to a certain weight.
