Actually jimlin from an axel limit speak, he quotes teh FMVSS laws! He quotes per say the FBL's from a gcwr standpoint. Not sure he is truly quoting the actual wt laws that the LEO's enforce as they do here in Wa st, or Illinois per wadcutter, texas per another leo wt cop etc.
As I have noted, LEO's can get an unsafe rig off the road, but the weight part will not be the issue. Be it over or under FMVSS laws. An leo can even make you unload stuff to fit with in the FBL's. I know of one person that had to leave 3000 some odd lbs of generator and an extra trackhoe bucket worth $20K at a weigh scale. As he was UNDER his FMVSS axle ratings, but over the FBL laws by 3000.
