My experience with stick on tile over time has not been good (in my house), even with decent quality tile. Wood expands and contracts at a different rate than the tile, and eventually you will get some pretty unsightly gaps between the tiles. It may help to make sure your tile and your floor are the same temperatures when you apply them. On a properly prepared, perfectly clean surface, tiles lifting isn't much of a problem. If you do try it, I would recommend you buy plenty of extra tiles for repairs later on just in case...
