On my rebuild I think the motion sensor LED outside ligts are a great idea. I am removing the pass thru window as it is a big heat sink, but I am installing a small marine style port light so I can look out the front thru the truck cab. I am in the toss-up mode about eliminating the ladder as I can access the roof from the hatch over the bed, but do like those tips and will tell others. As for the access hatch not being secure ,the nature of the cheap RV style hatches, I am heavily in favor of installing a marine style with positve lock dogs and ability to be opened from outside with a unique tool.
