When we can't get away, we sleep in our fiver parked behind our side gate, beside our house. We lock the door at night and keep our cell phone and dogs with us. Anyone can jump the fence and do something stupid. Are we paranoid? No. Are we cautious, yes.
One persons cautious or prepared is another persons paranoid. Being a backpacker, one doesn't get more boondocking than that. We sleep on the ground without a tent.
