Statistical probability of that happening to you with or without performing a long check list of safety precautions is miniscule.

That is not saying you should not be prepared and exercise reasonable caution.

I would not EVER dry camp behind a liquor store in South Chicago, but I would dry camp in the Ozark National Forest in Arkansas without much apprehension.
