As another retired LEO of 28 years I think both articles were very well written. I think Bryan did an exceptional job on firearms which is a very difficult topic to say the least!
I can also see why some would say Bryan's practices are way over the top. "I'm not going t do all that just to go camping beside my favorite trout stream for the weekend". Of course not but you have to realize that Bryan's TC and wherever he is camped is his HOME. We all take precautions (or should) to protect ourselves and homes where we live.
My camping preference is solo boondocking in the middle of nowhere hiking or dirt bike. Idaho is a great place for that!! I also carry the SPOT satellite messenger. It has performed flawlessly for several years now and is a great piece of mind for DW.
I would love for DW to come but she is too claustrophobic for our small TC plus I robbed the cradle and she is still working. Whenever she takes time off we have to take HER TT. :B
I am envious of Bryan's life style but something I could not do. Being retired I can stay out as long as I please but 2 weeks is about my limit. I like my sticks & bricks and my stuff!!!
