We never leave our three, yes three small guys, alone in the camper unless it's cool enough for fantastic fan or plugged in for AC. Ever, never. If it's shopping they are in the truck cab when cool and or in the shade and only for a short time. Otherwise one of us stays with them with AC in truck on. We keep any time away from the camper short, very short and only make stops otherwise for them to get out, do their business and stretch their little legs. In camp we have a double portable exercise pen and attach a wire kennel crate and wire a lid on the whole thing as one is a real climbing escape artist. They always have water food, toys and shade. Yup, our style of travel is quite determined by their comfort. But then I don't do hot worth a darn either and am a worry wart about them. Would be simpler to leave them home with a caretaker but then half our family would be missing. To them the camper and pen is their alternate home. Wherever we throw the doggie beds is home for them.
