phantom loads

My TT has been on the driveway for the last three weeks waiting for the snow to go and the ground to thaw. I plan to park it and disconnect the shore power.

The question I have is how many phantom loads are there in a TT? I have already found the TV preamp but I would think there are others.

I expect to put an ammeter in the battery line and it would be handy to know where to start looking.
  • The stereo will use some power to retain the clock display and memories. You likely have an LP leak detector and possibly a CO detector. Your refrigerator uses 12v even when operating on AC or propane.
  • There are several depending on the make as already mentioned. Keep the battery topped off or install a disconnect.

Good call. Most of us use batteries with threaded terminals, should be easy to find a stainless wing nut (5/16 x 18) at a battery distributor. Use the negative as the disconnect.

Keep in mind this will cause your LPG monitor to not function (pull the lines off of the tanks).
