You guys are bringing back some memories! I started driving dad's 59 Chev Fleetside when I was twelve, I sat between his knees, steered and shifted the three on the tree while he managed the pedals. Deal was we didn't tell mom.:B My first truck was a 64 Chev standard box Fleetside with a tired 283. Tranny went out so my buddy and I installed a 4 speed which we still laugh about. The engine was using a quart of oil in less than 10 miles so I traded it in. The purchaser made it about 45 miles when the motor expired and it was towed back. I saw it with the heads off, it was a 265 with probably 500,000 miles.
